Job Description :

Our southeastern New Hampshire defense products client is hiring a Systems Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team building devices for civil works projects around the globe. 


The position will be responsible for supporting the design, development and verifying the proper installation of our client’s systems controlling software and machinery. The position will also be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. The position will design, develop, and supervise all aspects of our client’s electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Will lead, supervise and/or coordinate with outside contractors for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Will work in computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.

Specific Responsibilities:


Assist with the analysis and design of various electrical and electromechanical components and systems


Work with Computer Aid Design (CAD) packages to design individual components and assemblies


Perform calculations at various stages of the design to verify component/system meets design criteria


Develop control systems and analysis control systems for industrial machinery 


Design, analyze and assemble human machine interfaces (HMI)


Write and debug code in standard industrial control software packages such as Ladder Logic (or equivalent), the Rockwell Automation suite of software, Factory talk 5000 or other similar software packages


Conduct tests in a laboratory and field settings, including but not limited to assist in data acquisition of electrical and electromechanical components


Assist in field deployment and testing of electrical and electromechanical systems, and troubleshoot control and sensors issues in the field


Perform in house and on-site testing debugging of control system software


Assemble technical reports of the results and present data at internal design reviews,


Lead on-site control system implementation and assist in on site testing


Evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce development plans,


Organize and document results, observations, relevant information from design, test or other events, 


Conduct and participate in design reviews and author technical reports.


Require travel between 25%-35% of the time (International)


Ability to work effectively as an individual and in a team environment.


Supervisory responsibilities and leading/coordinating with independent contractors and outside vendors.


Required Qualifications :

Relevant experience or master’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, physics or closely related scientific field.


Proficient in an IEC 61131-3 programming languages such as Rockwell Automation software (such as RSLinx Classic, FactoryTalk ME, Studio 5000, etc), and networking software, such as Cisco Network Assist.


Proficient in a Computer Aided Design (CAD) package (Solidworks, AutoCAD or equivalent).


Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E, 70B, 70, 79
