Job Description :

Our south suburban Boston manufacturing client is seeking a Supply Chain Buyer. This position is responsible for the procurement and sourcing of materials, services, supplies and equipment. This role will support multiple plants located throughout the USA. This is a direct hire, full time opportunity with a well-respected high volume manufacturing firm with diverse product applications including construction, electronics, telecomm, power transmission and energy.


 


 


Responsibilities


 


Maintains a continual flow of material by executing purchase requisitions within specific timeline for packaging and MRO.


 


Supports cost indexing, PPV justification and provides intelligence with market analysis reports on key items.


 


Creates and implements cost reduction opportunities and focus with standard cost and commodity initiatives.


 


Manages supplier actions, negotiates pricing to meet or beat current standard costs and supports all business review meetings with agenda, actions and follow up.


 


Facilitates new supplier qualifications, administers supplier survey, questionnaires and recommends suppliers to be approved or removed from the approved vendor list.


 


Analyzes and maintains item master and branch plant intelligence in ERP and other key data fields in ERP to support accurate systems data w min / max level, safety stock tactics and supplier payment terms, freight terms, supplier notes or intelligence that supports the potential use for material plans, MRP integration and S+OP planning requirements - Provides timely feedback to all issues and questions that arises - keeping the commodity managers aware of actions at all times.


 


Supports weekly meetings with operations plants to discuss SCM and Operations planning agenda, dispositions DMDs, supports SCM and R+D integration meetings and SCM agenda.


 


Adheres to Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO requirements and procedures.


 


 

Required Qualifications :

BS Degree in Business, economics or mathematics related major.




4-6 years' experience in purchasing, materials, planning position in a manufacturing environment.


 


Strong computer skills including Excel and ERP.


 


PMAB/APICS certified a plus.


 


Must have negotiations, planning, and performance capabilities.
