Job Description :

Our expanding capital device manufacturing client located in Tewksbury; MA has created an exciting new position for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer. Candidate will design circuits that power and control our broad array of scanning systems.  Develop solutions that address each customer's unique security needs from creating interfaces for portable x-ray scanners mounted on experimental robots and drones; mobile systems that enhance security at special events such as the Superbowl; to cargo scanning systems at airports, seaports, train tracks, and the borders that help our customers identify and stop threats and illegal contraband. 

This is a full time Direct Hire position. annual salary range $155,000-$160,000


  • Working in a ‘cutting-edge’ cross-functional engineering team environment

  • Continually seeking and researching new technologies for integration into new products

  • Designing and developing embedded hardware and firmware for X-Ray imaging systems

  • Designing Analog circuits using OpAmps, transistors, ADC, DAC, and others

  • Designing Digital circuits using Microcontrollers, FPGAs, CPLDs, RAM & DDR memory, and others

  • Developing Test Fixtures and/or PCB’s Designed for Test

  • Selecting and specifying electrical components in support of PCA design

  • Preparing documentation for PCAs such as component selection, Schematic capture, PCB Layouts, Assembly Drawings, BOMs, etc.

  • Providing oversight of PCB design and layout for manufacture

  • Collaborate with Sales, Design and Project teams during the conceptual phase of equipment development to carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, complexity and cost limits

  • Performing sustaining engineering functions to maintain existing products

  • Supporting Field Service Techs and customers with program changes, phone support, problem-solving and troubleshooting of controls and instrumentation issues

Understanding that duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; M.S. is a plus

  • 7+ years’ design experience desired

  • Experience with FPGA development and simulation tools required. Xilinx development tool experience required. VHDL a plus

  • Experience with programming / scripting languages such as C/C++; LabView a plus

  • Experience with analog and digital circuits; microprocessor hardware, software, their respective development environment and tools.

  • Experience with 2D CAD Electrical Schematic packages, such as OrCAD and/or Altium Designer; EPLAN a plus

  • Must be able to complete job responsibilities in consideration of different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needs

  • Domestic travel required, <15%. Must travel internationally and be able to acquire all necessary travel document

SKILLS:C/C++; LabView ,2D CAD Electrical Schematic packages, Altium Designer; EPLAN a plus
