Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Our NH based waterside defensive company has a direct hire opening for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer. Candidate will be required to work out of the company’s offices in NH where test and prototype equipment is located and equipment destined for customer locations are inspected, tested, and calibrated.
Installed equipment is worldwide, therefore, work will require significant travel (50-75%) both in the United States and international. Current installed systems are located in Israel, Qatar, Bahrain, and Norfolk (VA).

1.Participate in the design, development, and testing of products that employ electrical devices and equipment, including communications and telemetry systems, power systems, high power transmission, motors, navigation systems, and electrical systems for winches and other devices, including but not limited to, wiring, motor control centers, lighting control panels, generators, motors, switches, alarms, motor heaters and starters, bus bars, light fixtures, cooling fans and blowers, space heaters, and water heaters, etc.
2.Performs preventive maintenance and repair of such equipment in the shop, but primarily in the field at customer installations.
3.Installs conduits, wires, pull boxes, switchboards, controllers and switches as needed to improve or modify electrical systems; installs motors, controls, transformers, generators, and appurtenances.
4.Replaces or repairs motors, generators, storage batteries, switch gear, controllers, contactors, switches and other fixtures and systems; installs, maintains, tests and repairs electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components of electrical devices.
5.Performs advanced troubleshooting of electrical, security, life safety and related systems and performs scheduled maintenance. Brings any regulatory, specification or procedural infractions into compliance.
6.Isolates and resolves equipment and system failures in the field; performs bench repair to the component level; troubleshoots equipment with voltmeters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, ammeters, and other specialized test equipment.
7.Maintains and repairs control systems associated with high voltage electrical distribution substations.
8.Operates switching equipment, when directed to do so, in high voltage electrical substations including reclosers, air brake switches, power switches, etc.
9.Ensuring that the structures and/or required field operations comply with applicable safety and quality regulations.
10.Preparing and generating field engineering and/or status reports, staffing schedules and man-hour estimates
11.Provides written and oral reports of job assignment progress and status of work in progress.
12.Overseas contractors in the execution of maintenance work.
13.Acts as primary customer interface on site during maintenance and repair activities.
•Licensed Journeyman or Master electrician
•Knowledge of the principles, standard practices, methods, tools and materials of the electrical trade.
•Installation, repair and maintenance techniques and materials used in field and
bench service of electrical equipment.

•Basic skill in small watercraft operations and safety
•Must be able to read and understand drawings and technical specifications
•Excellent written and oral communication skills in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment
•Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
•Knowledge in Generator installations
•Knowledge in Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS)
•Experience with VFD’s (Variable frequency Drives) and PLC’s a plus.
•Be able to see and discern color.
•Independently transition to and from the ground without the aid of a stationary object for support, sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking on hard surfaces (both level and unlevel) as well as steel grating, snow, ice and mud
•With or without reasonable accommodation, to routinely climb stairs and ladders to extended heights
•Proficient in MS Office products, familiar with CAD software package
•Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work performed to include OSHA and EM 385 standards
•Must have familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E
•Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
•Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits.
•Read, interpret, and modify blueprints, schematic diagrams, electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
•Do detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and neatness.
•Keep records of equipment and machinery repair and maintenance.
•Work in potentially hazardous environments involved in working in and around electrical systems, materials, and equipment., near or on water, and outdoors in all kinds of weather.
