Cost Accountant
Leading client in the scientific industry is hiring a Cost Accountant to join their growing team. The hired candidate will be instrumental in assessing profitability of the organization, and advising Management on efficiencies/inefficiencies through various inventory costing analysis.
This is a remote position, candidate must be able to be at office 1-2 times monthly/Office in Tewksbury.
Cost Accountant Responsibilities:
· Responsible for management of inventory and costing
· Responsible for analysis of gross margins and variances
· Will handle month end activities
· Will drive process improvement for cost savings and efficiencies
· Conduct financial cost analysis including standard cost variance analysis
· Conduct GMP cost tracking and reporting
· Develop inventory and job tracking system for a small subsidiary
· Conduct gross margin review
· Prepare cost to budget reports on major projects
· Prepare annual inventory reserve analysis
· Conduct customer and product line margin analysis and reporting
· Analysis of standard cost variances
· Perform excess and obsolete inventory analyses
· Develop overhead rate calculations and analysis
· Conduct new product cost setup and review
· Ad hoc reporting and analysis
· A minimum 3 years’ manufacturing cost accounting experience required
· Demonstrated ability and experience analyzing and interpreting data
· Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and time efficiently and effectively
· Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
· Aptitude and drive to make process improvements
· Extreme attention to detail
· Strong written and oral communication skills
Cost Accountant Skills:
· Strong systems knowledge and strong skills/experience with Excel; Microsoft D365 Finance & Operation experience a plus
